Indeterminate Composition for Percussionist

For percussionist:
  1. Play any instrument once, beginning the piece.
  2. Do not play that instrument again until you are required to, thus ending the piece.
(don't forget to count rests)

I began the first performance of this piece in the early afternoon on Friday, Jan 20, 2012.

COMMENT: I chose a pair of claves because I thought I would be required to play them during a rehearsal the following week. However, the piece that called for claves (John Cage's Third Construction) was pulled from the repertoire. I am no longer in the SIUC Percussion Group, and there probably won't be another situation in the near future in which I will be required to play claves. So I'm not sure when this performance will end.
